1979 Pendant Light

The 1979 collection by Darmes and Will Choui captures the raw essence of an era through light and material. Inspired by Montreal's Brutalist and Modernist architecture of the late 1970s, these luminaries combine function and form. A square aluminum module, both structured and refined, diffuses indirect light through a grid, combining shadow and brilliance. Choui reinterprets brutalist solidity with a sense of balance, transforming the luminaire into an artifact of memory. Stripped of all excess, 1979 reduces light to its purest form, where nostalgia and innovation meet to revive the beauty of a bygone era.
