Bermonds Locke

A Playful Urban Retreat in London

In the heart of London’s Bermondsey neighborhood, Bermonds Locke stands as a celebration of bold creativity and urban renewal. Designed by Holloway Li, the restaurant and social spaces of this boutique aparthotel capture the raw energy of South London’s industrial past, infused with a modern, playful aesthetic that feels distinctly fresh and forward-thinking.

Drawing inspiration from the surrounding area’s history of metalworks and tanneries, Holloway Li transformed the space using expressive textures, pastel hues, and sculptural forms. Within this dynamic environment, the Afteroom Dining Chair and Counter Chair by Audo Copenhagen bring a sense of quiet refinement and architectural balance. Their sleek, minimal silhouette and tactile materials anchor the space, offering moments of calm amid the lively interior.

At Bermonds Locke, design is more than aesthetic; it’s experiential. Every detail, from the custom terrazzo surfaces to the elegant curvature of the Afteroom chairs, contributes to an atmosphere that’s effortlessly cool, unpretentious, and deeply human—a true reflection of London’s creative pulse.
