The FlowerPot Collection by &Tradition

Few designs capture the spirit of 1960s counterculture and the optimism of modern design as vividly as Verner Panton’s FlowerPot. With its playful, hemispheric silhouette and bold use of color, the FlowerPot was more than a lamp, it was a symbol of forward-thinking, freedom, and form.

Today, &Tradition continues this legacy by reintroducing and expanding the collection, remaining faithful to Panton’s original vision while offering fresh new expressions for contemporary spaces.

A Design Born to Break Rules

Originally designed in 1968, the FlowerPot challenged the design norms of its time with its futuristic shape and radical color palette. The design consists of two perfectly balanced domes facing each other, an embodiment of both harmony and playful tension.

Created during a time when design, art, and culture were rapidly evolving, the FlowerPot became a staple of progressive interiors, beloved for its sculptural simplicity and vibrant personality.

A Family of Forms

What began as a singular design has now evolved into a full family of lights. The FlowerPot collection includes seven different models, offering wall, pendant, and portable options that bring a dose of design history to every room. Its versatility makes it a favorite among architects, stylists, and design lovers alike—whether casting a soft glow over a cozy corner or making a statement in a modern entryway.

New Colors, Same Icon

In close collaboration with the Panton family, &Tradition has introduced five new hues for 2023: Cobalt Blue, Swim Blue, Vermilion Red, Tangy Pink, and Dark Plum. These rich, expressive tones expand the emotional range of the FlowerPot, making it even more adaptable to personal interiors, from bold and saturated to soft and sophisticated.

Retro Flair

In a nod to the past, a limited-edition black-and-white wave-pattern design, originally conceived by Panton in the 1970s, has been reissued, bringing graphic movement and retro flair into today’s homes.

Verner Panton: The Master of Color

Born in Denmark in 1926, Verner Panton remains one of the most influential designers of the 20th century. Known for his fearless use of color and unconventional materials, Panton believed that design should challenge, uplift, and above all, engage the senses.

The FlowerPot is perhaps his most enduring example of that philosophy, a piece that brings joy and function together in one elegant gesture.
