Flexible and Field-Bendable Linear Lighting
Continuous lines of light that can follow curves and changing architectural geometry.
Architecture does not always move in straight lines. Flexible and field-bendable linear lighting allows illumination to follow curves, waves, arches, columns and other forms that rigid profiles cannot easily accommodate. The system can be concealed for an indirect glow or exposed as a continuous, luminous line.
What is field-bendable lighting?
A field-bendable system can be curved during installation within stated limits. This gives the installer some flexibility to follow actual site conditions instead of relying entirely on a preformed factory shape. It is especially useful for organic details, changing radii and long curves that need to be adjusted in place.
Every flexible product has a minimum bend radius and a permitted bend direction. Forcing a source in the wrong direction can damage it or create an uneven appearance.
Horizontal and vertical bending
Flexible linear lighting is commonly described as side-bending or top-bending. Imagine looking at a luminous line from the front: one product may curve left and right within that plane, while another bends forward and backward. Three-dimensional systems offer more freedom, but they still have defined limits.
The correct orientation should be selected from the geometry of the detail—not from a product photo. Plans, elevations and sections may all be needed to understand the intended path.
Direct-view versus concealed use
Direct-view flexible lighting is designed to be seen, creating a continuous luminous line without obvious LED dots. Concealed flexible lighting sits within a cove, reveal or behind another surface and produces reflected light. Direct-view applications place more emphasis on lens consistency, joint locations, mounting hardware and how the ends terminate.
Flexible grazers add another possibility by throwing light across a nearby surface while following a curve.
Luminii Kurba systems

Field-bendable does not mean free-form without planning. A smooth substrate, accurate layout and consistent mounting are essential to prevent waviness or irregular spacing.

Share the intended path, dimensions, bend radii, mounting orientation, environmental rating, desired color temperature and control type. For prominent custom forms, a full-scale mockup or shop drawing review can help confirm the visual result before installation.
