Chandelier composed of 3 luminous discs, hanged by a matt painted structure. But what if the planets were nothing more than soap bubbles that have remained intact as they travel through time? Armed with his astronomer’s telescope that let him observe their every movement, Yuji has transformed them into objects floating in a weightless world.
Born in Tokyo in 1983, Yuji Okitsu spent his boyhood in Senri New Town, Osaka. In 2009, he graduated from Tokyo Denki University with a master's degree in architecture. In 2011, he started working as a freelance architect. His work is borderless and cross-disciplinary, not limited to the design of form, but spills over into the space in all fields. He explains : « I focus on the events that touch the heartstrings hidden in everyday life and incorporate them into my designs ».
