Chapeaux Metallo Table Lamp

Design: Rodolfo Dordoni, 2023 for Foscarini.

A refined table lamp whose components have been reduced to a minimum. A transparent glass base that nearly vanishes from view supports a luminous core and a freely placed metal diffuser that reflects light onto the tabletop, making it ideal for desktop lighting.

The components of Chapeaux, table lamp for direct and diffused lighting designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, have been reduced to a minimum. consists of three diffusers —varying in forms, materials, and finishes— freely placed on a transparent glass body. This glass body supports the light source: an opal polycarbonate ampoule containing technical lighting components that appears to float inside the glass. A small brushed aluminum rod at the top serves as a touch dimmer, allowing adjustment to three levels. It retains the last dimmer setting in memory when activated by a wall switch. In the M version, the diffuser is made of steel, with a glossy white finish on the inside to enhance light reflection onto the tabletop.
