PH 3/3 Pendant Light

With the PH 3/3 Pendant, Louis Poulsen reintroduces the whole sized pendants based on Poul Henningsen’s revolutionary System PH, also known as the three-shade system, from 1925-26. The pendant is characterized by a rounder look due to how the top shade of approximately 30 cm corresponds with the middle and lower shade in the proportions of 3:2:1. This design makes the PH 3/3 pendant particularly glare-free and elegant – perfect for any room at home or commercial spaces like flagship stores, meeting rooms, restaurants, hotel rooms and lobbies.

The PH 3/3 pendant comes in three variations that direct glare and shadow in different ways. In three-layered mouth-blown opal glass, a warm glow around the pendant is created. In contemporary black painted metal with white inner sides, the light is fine and primarily downward directed. In the variation with a metal top shade contrasting the translucent middle and lower shades in opal glass, a warm glow as well as downward directed light is created. If you prefer an even softer light distribution, the included diffuser in frosted glass can easily be inserted.

The fixture emits a comfortable, diffused, glare-free light that is characteristic of Poul Henningsen's reflective three-shade-system. The fixture is available with white opal glass or soft-touch black-painted metal with a white interior. The translucent shades in triple-layered, hand-blown opal glass create a warm glow around the pendant, whereas the metal shades with their white-painted interiors reflect a fine and primarily downward directed light. An optional translucent opal diffuser (included) is easy to insert for an even softer light distribution.
